After nearly 12 years at Ardenwoods, Sarah Marr is preparing to take on a new role in the community she has come to know so well. On April 1, Marr will step into the position of executive director, following the retirement of longtime leader Pam Pate.

The Ardenwoods and Heather Glen communities have launched a renewed focus on recycling, hoping to reduce waste on campus to help divert materials from the landfill whenever possible.

Healthcare has always been Stacey Shaw’s calling. Inspired by her love for her grandparents, who she helped care for in their later years, Stacey knew she wanted to provide that same level of compassion to others facing the challenges of older age.

Each Monday morning, the Ardenwoods Craft and Chat group gathers for fellowship. They practice various forms of crafting, including diamond painting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. Residents are welcome to bring any craft of their choice to the meetups.

For nearly 50 years, Heather Glen resident Jim Whalen made his living with his hands — shaping raw earth into vessels marked by patterns and texture. A lifelong artist and professional potter, Jim spent decades creating work that encouraged people not just to see art, but to feel it.
