How Candoo Tech is helping residents feel more at ease and in control 

     Technology plays an important role in staying connected, informed and independent. But for many older adults, today’s tech can sometimes feel frustrating or overwhelming. That is exactly why Ardenwoods is proud to offer Candoo Tech, a personalized technology support service designed specifically for older adults.

     Residents have had access to the service for about a month, and it’s already making a difference.

Personalized help that makes technology less stressful

     Unlike traditional tech support, Candoo Tech is built around one-on-one sessions with clear explanations and hands-on learning. Residents can schedule individual appointments or join group learning opportunities, knowing they will be supported every step of the way. At Ardenwoods, those personal connections are already paying off.

     “My tech appointment with Steve yesterday went very well,” said Mark Kennedy and Ardenwoods resident who recently worked with Candoo Tech’s concierge to untangle long-standing computer issues preventing him from accessing important information.

     “As I suspected, my computer’s innards were a mess, but Steve (Candoo’s tech) had the patience of Job. He unraveled competing internet-based services that prevented me from accessing critical information,” Mark said.

     He went on to describe how the session not only solved the problem but made future use easier.

     “Steve then entered new passwords and created corresponding icons on my home screen to make things easier for me at start-up of my computer,” Mark said. “He answered all of my questions in language that I could understand without any technical jargon.”

     For Mark, the experience was both effective and reassuring. “This Candoo service would have cost me a small fortune, if not a new computer with my Geek Squad. Thank you so much.”

Support when it matters most

     For many residents, peace of mind is just as important as technical know-how — especially when it comes to online safety. Chloe Murphey enrolled in Candoo Tech immediately after the introductory presentation and was glad she did.

     “The very next day I got a scam on my phone, and they answered within three minutes, and they straightened it out for me,” Chloe said.

     That quick response helped her avoid a stressful situation and reinforced the value of having trusted, knowledgeable support readily available.

Learning at your own pace

     Candoo Tech also shines when it comes to patience and encouragement, particularly for residents who may feel unsure about their technology skills. Shirley Morrow shared how helpful her first session felt.

     “I told him at the beginning my age and my lack of technical knowledge, and he was so patient as he helped me set up a new email account,” Shirley said.

     She appreciated not only the solutions, but also the explanations along the way.

     “His superior knowledge was evident from the start. He also explained to me about iCloud and was very quick to tell me to call on him any time I have a question.”
