Sarah Marr, Ardenwoods’ Executive Director, has been named to the Future Leaders Class of 2026 by Senior Housing News.

The Future Leaders Awards program honors exceptional professionals aged 40 and under who are shaping the future of aging and healthcare services. On Wednesday, Marr attended the Senior Housing News TRENDS conference in Chicago to accept the award.
Marr’s professionalism and ethical leadership stand out as reasons for her nomination from her peers.
“Sarah leads with integrity, accountability and transparency, earning the respect of her colleagues, staff and external partners,” said Jessica McCollum, ThriveMore’s Chief Operating Officer. “She is known for fostering a culture of trust and collaboration, holding herself and others to a high standard while maintaining a supportive and approachable leadership style."
Marr has been part of the Ardenwoods community for over 12 years. She began her career as the community’s marketing director, later serving as associate executive director and administrator of assisted living. Now, as Ardenwoods’ executive director, Marr credits her passion for the work and the residents themselves for her success. A career in senior living wasn’t part of Marr’s original plan, but it didn’t take long for her to discover a passion for the work and, most of all, the people.

“Every day in senior living reminds me how much there is to learn, not just as a leader, but as a human,” Marr said. “While each day brings a unique set of challenges, it also brings opportunities to serve a generation that has lived extraordinary lives. I have the privilege of hearing stories of resilience, sacrifice, love and accomplishment that put my own perspective into focus.”
As part of the award, Marr was interviewed about her leadership style and lessons learned. Read the Senior Housing News article here.
“Sarah is a forward-thinking leader who combines operational excellence with genuine care for people,” said Jen Bartscht, ThriveMore’s Chief Marketing Officer. “She leads with integrity, fosters strong relationships and consistently delivers results. I am confident that she will continue to make significant contributions to her organization and serve as an inspiring example of future leadership.”
