Beginning in June 2024, common areas in the Magnolia and Evergreen buildings at Ardenwoods underwent a significant makeover. Magnolia and Evergreen are original to the Ardenwoods campus. So, after serving the community well, it was time for a refresh.

Blum Construction and CIC Interiors came together to complete the revamp. Based in Asheville, Blum Construction has served North Carolina and Virginia clients for over 100 years. They have completed over 90 projects for senior living communities. CIC Interiors is an interior design business based in Virginia that specializes in creating functional and desirable designs for senior homes and other residential spaces.

A significant part of the project involved the Ardenwoods Interiors Committee, which was created to discuss possibilities for the renovation. They expressed how they thought the apartments and common areas could be improved and shared their feelings about décor choice based on what CIC Interiors presented.

“This was significant for the residents as it gave them an avenue to voice their opinions,” said Erika Hoosier, Marketing Coordinator at Ardenwoods.

The new common areas feature a pool table, gas fireplace, television and an upgraded lounging area. This is a modern yet comfortable space to unwind, whether for doing puzzles or just catching up with friends and family.

Many residents are making the most of the new spaces. Some are regularly using the puzzle table, while others appreciate having a quiet spot to read and enjoy the stunning mountain views.

“Overall, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with residents expressing great excitement,” said Erika.

Renovations were completed in October 2024 and we could not be more excited to welcome current and new residents to these brand-new spaces. While renovations can sometimes be dusty and disruptive, we are constantly seeking new ways to improve the quality of life for our residents.
